Kyle Ferree Corydon, IN Death, Obituary: Louisville Gas & Electric Company Mourns His Passing

The Corydon, Indiana community and the Louisville Gas & Electric (LG&E) family are grieving the heartbreaking loss of Kyle Ferree, who tragically passed away on Thursday, November 6, 2025, while doing the work he loved — linework. Kyle was a devoted husband, loving father, and proud member of IBEW Local 2100, whose dedication to his craft and loyalty to his crew will never be forgotten.

Born and raised in New Middletown, Indiana, and a graduate of Corydon Central High School, Kyle built his life on the values of hard work, humility, and integrity. Friends and coworkers describe him as genuine, polite, and dependable — a man who treated everyone with respect and kindness. “Kyle was always humble, always genuine, and always polite,” one friend shared. “I always enjoyed when I saw his name pop up on my phone. He was one of the good ones.”

Kyle loved the outdoors — hunting, fishing, and spending time in nature brought him peace and joy. Yet, his greatest love was his family. He was married to his beloved wife, Hunter, and together they were raising two beautiful children, with a third on the way. Those who knew Kyle speak of his fierce devotion to his family and the deep pride he took in being a husband and father.

His sudden and tragic passing has left an irreplaceable void in the lives of all who knew him. As his family faces the painful road ahead, Kyle’s work family and community have come together to support them. A campaign has been launched through NSUJL/Help a Hero to raise emergency funds for his wife and children — to help with housing, childcare, counseling, and other essential needs as they begin to rebuild their lives.

The loss of someone like Kyle reminds us all of life’s fragility and the importance of cherishing every moment. As one person beautifully said, “Be like Kyle. Be humble, be kind, and be genuine.”

Kyle’s light, his laughter, and his goodness will live on through his family, his friends, and the countless lives he touched. Though his time here was far too short, his impact will endure — a reminder of how one man’s quiet strength and loving heart can leave a lasting mark on the world.

Rest in peace, Kyle. You will be deeply missed and forever remembered.
