Born and raised in Westfield, Massachusetts, Jocelyn was a proud alumna of Westfield State University, where she built lifelong friendships and began shaping the vibrant, compassionate spirit that would touch so many lives. Known for her remarkable mix of sweetness and strength — “the sweetest and spiciest woman,” as her loved ones fondly described her — Jocelyn lived each day with humor, courage, and love.
She shared a beautiful life and marriage with Kristofer Carella-Erickson, her partner, best friend, and the great love of her life. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, creativity, and unwavering devotion. Those who knew Jocelyn remember her as fiercely loyal, endlessly kind, and delightfully witty — a person who could light up any room and make everyone feel seen and valued.
Family was at the heart of everything Jocelyn did. She was a cherished daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend whose warmth and authenticity drew people close. She taught those around her the importance of living fully, loving deeply, and speaking one’s mind — lessons that will continue to resonate in the lives she touched. Her family describes her as a “Valkyrie,” a woman of incredible spirit and resilience who faced life’s challenges with grace and fire.

“There’s a hole in our hearts today that can never be filled. The sweetest and spiciest woman, wife, daughter, sister, niece, cousin, and friend has left us — and left us shattered. I’ve loved you since the moment I knew you were to be; and I will love you always. We will be okay, but not right now. You are a Valkyrie. You taught me and all of us so many things. You brought Kris to us, perhaps the best gift of all. Because of you I became a mom, and later one of your best friends. Despite your inability to not critique my driving, you can be my wingman anytime. Come visit frequently — just don’t scare the cats and the dog. I love you, Jocelyn. Forever.”
